男 ，汉族 ，1935年生 ，河北蔚县人。第一批国家级非物质文化遗产项目剪纸（蔚县剪纸）代 表性传承人。他出身于剪纸世家 ，8岁时一边上学一边跟父亲学艺。 父亲从打刀子教起 ，教他 熏、 闷、刻、染全套工艺 ，要求极其严格。周兆明13岁时将全部技艺学成 ，技法日臻成熟， 以后又不断向外汲取营养 ，追求创新 ，形成具有独特个性的艺术风格。他创作作品两千六百 多幅 ，题材有戏曲人物、佛教人物、花鸟鱼虫、戏曲脸谱等 ，其图样新颖、 刀工精湛、染色 亮丽。 多年来共培养徒弟五十多人。
