男 ，汉族 ，1941年生 ，湖南溆浦人。第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目目连戏（辰河目连 戏）代表性传承人。谢杳文1957年进溆浦县辰河戏剧团学艺 ，拜师杨世济 ，初学老生 ，后改 小生 ，1959年正式登台 ，很快成为剧团的主要演员 ，1989年曾参加由联合国教科文组织国际 文化促进会基金赞助并实施的 “ 中国辰河目连戏录像演出”。他长于演唱 ，在唱腔方面深受 舒洛成影响 ，擅长通过发挥高腔音乐的特点 ，塑造悲剧人物 ，深受广大观众的好评 ，演出的 《目连》《黄金印》《荆钗记》《琵琶记》等剧目 ，声腔优美 ，意味浓郁 ，为观众留下了深 刻印象。
