男 ，汉族 ，1941年生 ，河北定州人。第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目秧歌戏（定州秧歌 戏）代表性传承人。 张占元早年师从甫申法学习文戏和打击乐 ，后跟随贾登科、 张小凯学习 文戏和武戏 ，成为定州秧歌第五代传人。 张占元精通定州秧歌戏的音乐、板式、 唱腔、打击 乐伴奏 ，通晓各行当的演唱技艺 ，能编创定州秧歌剧本 ，为剧本设计音乐唱腔 ，能导演剧 目 ，在理论和实践方面均有重要建树。代表作品有《一把草》 ，唱腔设计代表作品有《扒糕 情》《打经堂》等。
