男 ，汉族 ，1953年生 ，湖北天门人。第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目荆州花鼓戏代表性传 承人 ，一级演员。胡新中1969年进入潜江花鼓剧团及湖北省实验花鼓剧院工作 ，先后得到京 剧、汉剧、楚剧及本剧种等众多专家的指导 ，戏路宽广 ，对生行各角色均能表演自如 ，栩栩 如生。代表作品有：《站花墙》《红灯记》《家庭公案》《血冤》《原野情仇》等。
