女 ，汉族 ，1932年生 ，北京人。第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目京剧代表性传承人 ，京剧 表演艺术家 ，一级演员。杜近芳6岁登台演戏 ，受教于律佩芳、 陈世鼐、 刘玉芳等 ，1945年 拜王瑶卿为师 ，1950年拜梅兰芳为师 ，15岁搭谭富英、杨宝森班社。 自1951年长期在中国 京剧院从艺 ，并与李少春、 叶盛兰、袁世海等京剧名家同台合作 ，擅演诸多 “梅派”剧目， 独有的代表作品有《柳荫记》《白蛇传》《谢瑶环》等。其表演兼融梅（兰芳）、 王（瑶 卿）的艺术风格 ，又有自己的创造 ，既有婀娜娇艳之美 ，又具刚劲坚实之力 ，她的演唱音色 甜美、 圆润清醇 ，吐字清晰 ，善于控制气息、 音量和节奏。
