男 ，汉族 ，1935年生 ，湖南辰溪人。第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目高腔（辰河高腔）代 表性传承人 ，三级演奏员。 向荣7岁随父学唱辰河高腔 ，9岁进班唱戏 ，逐渐掌握了较多的剧 目和曲牌 ， “文革”后在泸溪县辰河戏剧团担任演员兼导演、编剧等工作 ，在六十多年的舞 台实践中 ，积累继承了辰河高腔的大量声腔遗产。代表作品有：《痴梦》《目连》等。
