男 ，汉族 ，1932年生 ，广东汕头人。第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目英歌（潮阳英歌）代 表性传承人。杨卫是通过家族承传方式学习英歌舞。他9岁开始练习武术 ，15岁已掌握英歌舞 基本套路 ，18岁就成了英歌队的领舞人 ，继而负责英歌队教练。他尤善于对英歌舞蹈的改革 创新 ，深受舞者和观众喜爱的古朴大方、 刚柔并济的英歌舞动作套路 “七下槌”就是杨卫于 1991年编创的。
