男 ，汉族 ，1935年生 ，江苏苏州人。第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目古琴艺术代表性传承 人。 自幼受到昆曲、古琴等中国传统艺术的熏陶。 1953年从查阜西学琴。 1955年入南开大学 历史系 ，兼从吴景略学琴。 1959年大学毕业后入中央音乐学院民族音乐研究所 ，师从音乐史 家杨荫浏研究中国音乐史。现为中国艺术研究院音乐研究所研究员 ，北京古琴研究会会长。 打谱有《汉宫秋月》《山居吟》《良宵引》等曲 ，继査阜西之后影印出版了《琴曲集成》。 主要著述有：《中国古琴珍萃》《绝世清音》《追寻逝去的音乐足迹——图说中国音乐史》 《中国音乐史略》（合著）、《古琴基础教程》（VCD）及古琴演奏专集《忆故人》《汉宫 秋月》等。
