男 ，汉族 ，1942年生 ，四川青川人。第二批国家级非物质文化遗产项目川北薅草锣鼓代表性 传承人。 1955年开始跟随爷爷王英基学习薅草锣鼓 ，系板桥铁炉村王氏薅草锣鼓第四代传承 人。 自1959年开始带领本生产队的薅草锣鼓队演出 ，该队锣鼓拍子节奏鲜明 ，唱腔旋律优 美 ，加入许多的山歌曲调深受老百姓喜爱。能演唱传统的五字、 七字、 十字谱如《二面麻柳 叶》《三月百草青》等曲目。凡遇农家之事 ，他常以歌郎、知客身份出现 ，口碑极好。 自 1980年起培养传承人 ，主张继承薅草锣鼓的传统唱法并和时代相结合 ，取其精华 ，为我所用 。
