男 ，汉族 ，1947年生 ，江苏扬州人。第一批国家级非物质文化遗产项目雕版印刷技艺代表性 传承人 ，高级工艺美术师 ，江苏省工艺美术大师。 陈义时出生在古籍雕版印刷技艺世家 ，13 岁起就随父亲学艺 ，尽得父亲真传。加之几十年的勤奋实践 ，功力深厚 ，技艺精湛娴熟 ，对 真、 草、 隶、篆各种字体的雕刻运刀自如 ，特别擅长宋体和楷体。其宋体雕版锋骨分明 ，字 字如立在板上 ，所印书籍清晰、美观、 典雅 ，兼有北宋版的整齐庄重、 南宋版的秀劲圆润以 及元代版的妩媚柔和 ，艺术风格自成一家 ，为同行所推崇。 陈义时参与雕刻的版片有：《白 隐禅师自笔刻本集成》《里堂道听录》 ；雕刻的活字有：《唐诗三百首》《孙子兵法》《毛 泽东诗词七十六首》等。 陈义时的雕版技艺已经传于女儿。
