男 ，汉族 ，1954年生 ，安徽歙县人。第一批国家级非物质文化遗产项目歙砚制作技艺代表性 传承人 ，徽州民间工艺师。 曹阶铭自幼喜欢书画艺术 ，1973年在安徽省歙县工艺厂从事歙砚 雕刻工作 ，师从砚雕世家汪律森、方见成。砚雕主要靠手劲 ，持刀要稳 ，下刀要准 ，推刀要 狠；刀法轻重徐疾 ，刚柔相济；图案应变化得当 ，疏密相间 ，气韵生动 ，多样而统一。其作 品已经形成了独特的艺术风格 ，设计布局得体 ，造型高雅别致 ，刀法刚劲 ，线条流畅 ，无论 山水、人物、龙凤、花鸟、 虫鱼均各具特色。 曹阶铭从艺三十多年 ，培养了数十名砚雕新 秀 ，如今还兼任安徽省行知中学歙砚理论和制作的老师。代表作品有 ：东坡赤壁游、唐模小 西湖砚、歙州竹砚等。
