男 ，纳西族 ，1928年生 ，云南迪庆藏族自治州人。第一批国家级非物质文化遗产项目傣族、 纳西族手工造纸技艺代表性传承人 ，云南省高级民间美术师。和志本12岁就在舅舅的指点下 学习东巴经书、造纸和绘制神画、神路图及木牌画 ，是家传东巴的第六代传人。 “文革”时 期 ，他被迫中断造纸术的学习与研究。 1983年 ，和志本受邀到丽江参加东巴文化座谈会 ，会 后他重新拿起画笔和造纸工具 ，开始继续研究、 学习纳西族古老的造纸技术。 1993年 ，在乡 政府的支持下 ，和志本正式恢复了东巴造纸 ，由于东巴造纸技艺有传男不传女的传统 ，他只 将技艺传授给自己的儿子和侄子。 多才多艺的和志本在业余时间还绘制了 “神画” “神路图 ” “木牌画” ，这种亦书亦画的表现形式体现了纳西族的历史和民俗文化 ，深受国内外学者 赞赏。
