女 ，土家族 ，1967年生 ，湖南凤凰人。第一批国家级非物质文化遗产项目土家族织锦技艺代 表性传承人 ，中国工艺美术大师。湘西土家织锦是在斜式木机上反面挖花进行织造的一种技 艺 ，据考证 ，已有一千五百多年历史。 叶水云12岁时跟随姑婆叶玉翠学习土家族织锦及民间 绘画 ，15岁正式拜叶玉翠为师 ，系统学习了土家织锦的基本技艺和一些特殊技艺。 1983年随 叶玉翠进龙山县织锦厂给她当助手 ，参与了土家族织锦传统图案的抢救整理工作。 1988年， 她考入凤凰县职业中专学校美术专业 ，毕业后以优异成绩留校任教至今。 叶水云至今已从事 土家族织锦学习、 制作、研究、传习二十多年 ，她在继承前辈的基础上将 “半格”挖花法应 用到装饰人物画中 ，还首创色彩推移法 ，传授了大批学生和徒弟。代表作品有 ：椅子花、大 岩墙花、龙凤呈祥等。
